The two flagships will probably come at a later date

Before CES 2015 opened its gates in Las Vegas, we had hopes of seeing a lot of flagship smartphones get unveiled at the event.

In a piece preceding the event, we talked about the possibility of seeing the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Sony Xperia Z4 be officially announced, but it’s pretty obvious at this point that this will not happen.

Most likely, we will have to wait until the next big thing in tech comes along, and by that we mean the Mobile World Congress which usually takes place in Barcelona in February.

But according to Twitter user Ricciolo, who has gained the reputation of being a serious Sony leakster, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Sony Xperia Z4 were indeed present at CES 2015, it’s just that not too many people got to see them, that’s all.

Sony and Samsung held exclusive events

He explains that each tech giant had a “secret” room set up for them on the grounds at CES, which they used to showcase their upcoming flagship to select VIP members.

As for Sony, their elitist event was destined for carriers, so AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile representatives were probably given the green light to attend the gathering.

We don’t expect any exclusive information to leak out about the upcoming handsets, because the power of non-disclosure agreements is at play here.

As far as we know, Samsung did the same at CES 2014, when it took the Galaxy S5 along for the ride to showcase it en premiere to its partners.

Both flagship handset are expected to arrive with relatively similar specifications. They will be relying on QHD displays (or some variants will, at least), a Snapdragon 810 processor fitted with 4GB of RAM and Cat.6 LTE.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S6, it has been said that the device will also be offered as a variant with a dual-curved display on both sides.
