Before the end of this year, Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile will make official its next flagship Android-based smartphone, supposedly set to land on shelves as Xperia Z3, and some info on its capabilities is now available.

According to the guys over at it168.com, Sony will pack the upcoming smartphone with highly appealing hardware, including a Snapdragon 805 processor, along with some new design elements, supposedly set to make the phone tougher and more attractive.

Apparently, the upcoming smartphone will arrive on the market with a Snapdragon 805 processor inside, packing four Krait 450 cores that have been clocked at 2.7GHz each.

Moreover, the phone is said to include an Adreno 420 graphics processor, clocked at 500 MHz, along with 3GB of RAM, which should ensure great performance capabilities at all times.

At the same time, Sony Xperia Z3 is rumored to arrive on shelves with a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back, the same as Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z2 did before it.

However, considering the fact that the new phone will come with a faster, more powerful processor, chances are that Sony will also include 4K video recording in it.

One thing that is interesting to note about the yet unannounced Xperia Z3, however, is the fact that it is expected to feature only a full HD screen, and not a Quad HD one.

As GforGames notes, the smartphone could become official sometime in August, which will make it a direct competitor against HTC One M8 Prime, Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, and LG G3, all of which should arrive in the coming months.

Sony might also pack the upcoming mobile phone with a metal frame around a very thin body. Moreover, it appears that the handset vendor is planning on treating the device’s case with a PVD coating.

Thus, the Xperia Z3 will end up featuring a mirror stainless steel look, while also being more resistant to scratches and hits. Basically, the mobile phone would be able to better handle wear and tear.

All in all, the Sony Xperia Z3 is shaping up as a highly appealing smartphone, though no official confirmation on any of the above has been provided as of now.

One thing that is certain, however, is the fact that the smartphone will indeed be released soon. After all, Sony itself has confirmed that it has moved to a six-month release window for new flagship handsets, and the Xperia Z2 is already three months old.
