The tablet’s existence was revealed to us a few days ago

A few days ago we had no idea that the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact even existed, but now a few days before IFA 2014 starts in Berlin, the slate has already showed up on the company’s official website.

The specs of the device have already been leaked online, but this way we get the confirmation that the tablet will take advantage of a TRILUMINOUS IPS display, capable of displaying sharp and accurate colors, regardless of the angle you’re holding the tab.

Other than that, the Sony website says nothing, but at least we’re shown an image of the device (as seen on Xperia Blog).

Anyway, since then the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact mention has been replaced with the Xperia Z2 Tablet, in an attempt to hide all evidence, but it’s quite late for that, isn't it?

We expect the new tab to arrive in a few days, bundling an 8-inch IPS display (1920 x 1080 pixel res) and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz.

Everything onboard is fitted with 3GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and the device will bring about microSD card, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and a frontal 8MP shooter with Sony Exmore RS sensor too.

In a few days we’re going to see this baby in the wild, so continue to check back with us.
