There’s no doubt about it, Sony Xperia Z3 will be unveiled early next month at IFA 2014 trade fair. Until then though, Sony Xperia fans will be assaulted in a non-aggressive way with tidbits of information and even pictures showing the company’s next flagship smartphone.

Last year, news and photos of the Xperia Z1 leaked online ahead of the official announcement and even before word about Sony’s plans for an Xperia Z1 Compact version popped up.

This year however, the first live pictures showing the Xperia Z3 Compact were published online before those of the Xperia Z3, which is the company’s upcoming flagship Android smartphone.

Even so, Sony enthusiasts should be excited as the Xperia Z3 has just been spotted at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission, and there are picture inside these documents.

Keep in mind that these are Chinese models of the Sony Xperia Z3, as XperiaBlog reports, but, in terms of design, they should not be any different from the international versions that will be released later this year.

Now there aren’t too many details regarding the phone’s specs sheet, but we do know that they are aimed at Chine Mobile (L55t) and China Unicom (L55u).

Luckily, there was one previous leak that spotted the Xperia Z3 in GFXBench, so we now have an idea of what the phone’s hardware configuration looks like.

First of all, Sony Xperia Z3 will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, which comes as no surprise. We also hope that those who purchase it will also receive an Android L upgrade sometime later this year or maybe early 2015.

On the inside, the Xperia Z3 has been confirmed to pack a 2.23GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, which is a bit disappointing considering that other flagship smartphones already include Snapdragon 805 chipsets that are two generations newer.

Hopefully, that’s only a slight mistake in the benchmark and the Xperia Z3 will be powered by a much newer chipset, which will make it more appealing to customers.

Furthermore, the smartphone will pack 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, but a microSD card slot will be included as well for storage expansion (up to 128GB).

On the back, the Xperia Z3 is said to boast an impressive 20.7-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. In the front, the phone will pack a 2-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

Last but not least, Sony’s next flagship smartphone will sport a 5.1-inch full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display. What do you think about Xperia Z3? Do you think that it will be competitive enough considering its leaked specs?
