The phone emerged at the FCC without support for the carrier's network frequencies

In early September, Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is expected to make official a new flagship Android-based smartphone in the form of Xperia Z3, and it appears that T-Mobile customers might not be able to use the phone on the carrier’s 4G LTE network.

Apparently, the device has been spotted at the FCC with band 12 LTE support, which could suggests that it might work on T-Mobile’s network too, but it seems that it won’t be compatible exactly with the frequencies that are required for that.

As TmoNews explains in a recent post, the upcoming device only supports band 12 on 704-716 / 734-746 MHz, but not the lower A-block spectrum, which means that it will not be compatible with T-Mobile’s upcoming network.

Moreover, the news site explains that the mobile phone might have received FCC approvals en route to wireless carriers in Canada, since both Bell and TELUS operate on the frequencies the new phone supports.

With no official confirmation on the matter provided as of now, chances are that a new Xperia Z3 variant will receive approvals sooner or later, and that it will include support for T-Mobile’s network too.

As far as rumor goes, Sony will make the Xperia Z3 official in early September during the IFA 2014 show in Berlin, which means that more details on the matter will emerge at that time. Stay tuned to learn the news.
