Sony Mobile has been long rumored to plan on releasing a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact smartphone next to the Xperia Z3 later this year, and the device appears to have already received the necessary approvals from the FCC.

The handset has been spotted at the feds with two IDs, namely PM-0810 and PM-0812, with the former expected to be released as the international device version, while the other being aimed at wireless carriers in the US, as PhoneArena notes.

PM-0810 has been approved with support for LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 13, and 17, while PM-0812 offers support for LTE Band 5 and 7. Both of these device models will also arrive on shelves with GSM/WCDMA connectivity inside, as well as with the usual Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, and NFC capabilities.

The FCC listing does not offer further details on the hardware specs of this smartphone, though previous reports on the matter have already revealed that it should be released with a 4.6-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering an HD or full HD resolution.

Moreover, the handset is expected to be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. On the back, the handset should feature a 20-megapixel camera with Exmor RS sensor, complemented by a 2MP front camera for video calling.
