Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has been long rumored to plan on making the Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone available for its customers, and new info on the matter suggests that it still intends to do so.

A leaked screenshot of an internal document from Verizon reveals that Xperia Z2 is still en route to this wireless carrier, despite the fact that no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now.

Said leaked screenshot, available courtesy of PhoneArena, shows that Verizon is currently training its store representatives on the handset, which suggests that an official release might be very near.

At the moment, mobile phone users in the United States can purchase the latest Sony flagship via the mobile phone maker’s official online portal, yet no carrier in the country has added it to its offering.

The smartphone has been rumored to arrive on shelves at Verizon since March, and photos with the device bearing Verizon’s logo have also emerged online to prove that.

However, Sony and Verizon are still keeping mum on the possible launch of Xperia Z2 at Big Red, and it remains to be seen whether the rumor will pan out in the end.

One thing that is certain, however, is the fact that this device could prove a highly popular product at Verizon, considering the hardware specs it was released with.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the handset arrives on the market with 5.2-inch IPS LCD Triluminos touchscreen display with X-Reality Engine, capable of delivering a full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution.

Moreover, the mobile phone is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor paired with Adreno 330 graphics and 3GB of RAM, which can deliver great performance levels to all users.

Xperia Z2 also sports 16GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot capable of accommodating cards of up to 128GB in size.

On the back, the flagship smartphone features a 20.7-megapixel camera with LED flash and HDR, which can record videos in 4K resolution. A 2.2MP front camera for making video calls was also added to the phone.

Xperia Z2 runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and is powered by Li-Ion 3200mAh battery that can deliver up to 19 hours of talk time or up to 740 hours of standby time. Moreover, it boasts 4G LTE support, along with the usual set of connectivity capabilities and sensors.
