Those who did not manage to secure a SIM-free Sony Xperia Z2 two weeks ago when the first shipment of units arrived in the UK will be pleased to know that the next batch of devices is set to arrive early next month.

According to Carphone Warehouse, the SIM-free Xperia Z2 will start shipping May 1, so those who wish to pre-order one should place their orders now. The smartphone is priced at £550 (€665 / $925), but limited stock will be available.

Those who decide to grab the Xperia Z2 on pay monthly or upgrade deals will be able to take advantage of the promotion offered by Carphone Warehouse, which gives customers £100 (€120 / $170) back on any Xperia Z2 purchase.

Today, another UK-based retailer has confirmed that it will start shipping the Xperia Z2 on May 9. That’s more than a week away in comparison with Carphone Warehouse, but customers who have pre-ordered their Xperia Z2 units from this reseller will have to wait until then.

It is also worth mentioning that Clove UK offers the Sony Xperia Z2 for slightly cheaper at £540 (€655 / $905) outright.

If that is not enough for you, maybe a free bundle comprising £200 (€240 / $335) worth of products and content will convince you to take Clove’s deal over Carphone Warehouse’s, assuming that you are willing to wait until May 9.

The bundle includes a free £120 (€145 / $200) wireless speaker, noise-cancelling headphones, as well as £80 (€95 / $135) digital content.

According to Clove, in order to “to qualify for the free speaker and headphones bundle, please select ‘Continue’ after adding the Z2 to your basket. A popup should then appear to add the bundle to your basket also. Both items should be in your basket at the time. The discount for this will automatically be added to your order.”

Keep in mind that only the black and white versions of Xperia Z2 will be available for purchase via Clove UK, and the same goes for Carphone Warehouse.

Sony Xperia Z2 has been met with high demand in almost all countries where the Japanese handset maker planned to launch the smartphone.

Unfortunately, the company does not seem to be capable of fulfilling all pre-orders for its flagship smartphone, which is why the Xperia Z2 has been delayed in many countries for up to one month. Hopefully, the SIM-free version will arrive in the UK in the next couple of days.
