14 DAY TRIAL // Unveiled earlier this week, Sony’s new Xperia flagship smartphone has been confirmed to arrive on the market in April, but the Japanese company did not offer any details on pricing options.
The good news is that UK-based retailer Clove confirmed that Sony Xperia Z2 should be available for purchase beginning April. Clove also announced a couple of days ago that the smartphone would sell for no less than £566 (€690 / $945) off contract.
However, Clove backtracked on its initial statement and said that the Xperia Z2 would be priced slightly cheaper than the original amount announced a few days ago.
This means that, beginning today, customers in the UK can pre-order the Sony Xperia Z2 for £550 (€670 / $915) outright. Aside from dropping the smartphone’s price from £566 to £550, Clove has also announced a promotional deal that applies to all customers who pre-order the Xperia Z2 before April 7.
According to Clove, each Android enthusiast that pre-orders the Xperia Z2 for its outright price will receive £120 (€145 / $200) of products for free.
Basically, each Xperia Z2 pre-ordered via Clove will be bundled with a Sony SRS-BTM8 Wireless Speaker and a set of MDR-NC31EM noise cancelling headphones, which will be offered for free.
Keep in mind that this promotional deal does not apply to orders received after the official launch due the week commencing April 7.
Sony’s promotional offer for the Xperia Z2 is probably meant to tackle Samsung Galaxy S5’s launch in the UK, which has been confirmed by the South Korean company for April 11.
Still, this is not the first time when Sony throws in free stuff bundled with some of its high-tier devices. In fact, the Japanese company seems to be running these kinds of deals after each major announcement.
Unfortunately, not all Sony fans will be able to take advantage of the promotional offer. For the time being, only Clove UK announced the availability of this deal, so it must have signed some kind of partnership with the Japanese company.
All in all, those living in the UK who believe that the Xperia Z2 is a major upgrade over the previous Xperia Z1 model may want to pre-order their contract-free devices from Clove and get some free stuff with their smartphones.
