Xperia Z2, the latest flagship Android-based smartphone from Sony, is now available for reservations in Finland as well, with a price tag of €689 ($949) attached to it.

The handset can be seen listed on this page on the website of Gigantti.fi, one of the largest retailers in Finland. Users can pre-order it SIM-free, and the price includes tax, it seems.

However, as esphoneblog notes, users in the country can also go for a bundle that includes the Sony Xperia Z2 and the Sony SmartBand, which will set them back €719 ($990).

According to said retailer, the new mobile phone will start shipping to users on April 7, which will be a bit earlier than on other markets out there.

Moreover, the phone will be available for purchase before Samsung’s Galaxy S5 flagship arrives on shelves, the same as it will happen around the world.

What remains to be seen is whether Xperia Z2 will see shortages in Finland too, as it is expected to see in various other countries.

Considering the fact that the market here is dominated by Nokia’s smartphones, chances are that Sony won’t need to send too many Xperia Z2 units in Finland right from the start and that it will manage to meet demand for it.

Sony made the Xperia Z2 official during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month with a nice range of appealing hardware specs inside, starting with its 5.2-inch touchscreen, an X-Reality Engine, Triluminos display that can deliver a full HD resolution.

The mobile phone was also announced with a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 CPU and with Adreno 330 graphics, paired with 3GB of RAM for increased performance capabilities.

At the same time, Xperia Z2 arrives on the market with a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back, with LED flash, image stabilizer, HDR, and 4K video recording capabilities, as well as with a 2MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The specifications list of this device also includes 16GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, LTE, HSDPA (42 Mbps), HSUPA (5.8 Mbps), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with a built-in GPS receiver, and a Li-Ion 3200mAh battery inside.

Sony Xperia Z2 runs under Google’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right from the start, while also featuring a variety of exclusive applications and software attributes coming from Sony themselves. The smartphone measures 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2mm and weighs 163 grams.
