Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has made its latest flagship Android-based device available for purchase on a new market in Asia, namely Hong Kong.

The handset, already released in a great deal of areas worldwide, is now up for grabs there with a price tag of HK$ 5,998 ($774/€565) attached to it, as Sony has announced on Facebook.

As XperiaBlog notes, the mobile phone arrives on this market with a series of freebies included in the package, such as an original protective sleeve Xperia Z2, and a DK36 magnetic charging dock.

However, it seems that Sony has decided to release the device in Hong Kong without noise-cancelling headphones, although they were available with the phone on other markets out there.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Sony Xperia Z2 was made official on February 24, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The handset was announced with a 5.2-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD ( 1920x1080 pixels) resolution, TRILUMINOS Display for mobile with X-Reality for mobile picture engine, capable of offering a great viewing experience to all users.

The mobile phone is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AB processor, paired with 3GB of RAM, for increased performance levels.

Moreover, the smartphone arrives on shelves with 16GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 128GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the handset packs a 20.7-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor RS for mobile image sensor and 4K video recording capabilities, which is one of its main selling points. Xperia Z2 also sports a 2MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

Sony also packed the device with support for 4G LTE networks, as well as with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, NFC, WiFi Hotspot functionality, MHL support, DLNA, Xperia Link, and screen mirroring. Moreover, it features Miracast, noise suppression, PlayStation certification, and built-in GPS receiver.

Sony Xperia Z2 runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right out of the box, as well as with various customizations and exclusive applications coming from Sony itself, including Sony Entertainment Network (selected markets only), STAMINA mode, Loud Experience, and more.

The Xperia Z2 is powered by a 3200mAh battery capable of offering up to 19 hours of talk time, or up to 740 hours of standby time, and it arrives on shelves with a Waterproof (IP55 and IP58) and Dust-resistant (IP55) body.
