Xperia Z2, the latest flagship Android-based handset from Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile, is finally shipping to orders in the UK, through in limited supply, it seems.

The phone had recently been said to start shipping as soon as this week, and it seems that retailers in the UK are currently sending devices to those who ordered it.

As XperiaBlog notes in a recent article, the phone is now shipping from wireless carriers EE and Vodafone, as well as from retailers such as Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U.

However, there is a chance that not all those who pre-ordered the phone will receive their units now, considering that it is available in limited supply. Starting May, however, the flagship should enjoy expanded availability.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the handset was made official in February with a 5.2-inch full HD screen and with a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor packed inside.

Moreover, it arrives on shelves with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes. On the back, the phone features a 20-megapixel camera capable of 4K video recording, paired with a front camera for video calling.

Sony Xperia Z2 runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, with Sony’s own set of exclusive applications and customizations loaded on top.
