Sony Mobile has announced that Xperia Z2 will be delayed in several countries, but it looks like fans in the UK will not be among the unfortunate ones to wait for the release of the flagship smartphone.

We have recently reported that Sony has confirmed that the launch of the Xperia Z2 has been pushed to June in Hong Kong, while several UK-based retailers have been told that the first batch of units will arrive in May.

Well, it appears that the situation is slightly different in the UK, as Carphone Warehouse now states that the first pre-orders for Sony Xperia Z2 will be shipped in the week beginning April 14. This means that no later than next week those who pre-order the smartphone will receive their handsets.

Officially, Sony Xperia Z2 should arrive in the UK around May 1, but it looks like Carphone Warehouse managed to break the street date by being able to fulfill some, if not all, pre-orders for the smartphone.

For the time being, the Xperia Z2 is available at Carphone Warehouse for free on select plans starting at £42 (€50 or $70) per month.

Customers will also receive the new Michael Jackson album Xscape. According to Sony, the album has eight new songs which can be downloaded beginning May 13 via Sony Xperia Lounge app. In addition, those who pre-order the Xperia Z2 via Carphone Warehouse will get £100 (€120 / $165) cashback.

Android fans who have yet to decide whether or not to purchase the Xperia X2 should know that Carphone Warehouse has announced that it “will have limited stock available for pre-order and online customers,” Pocket-lint reports.

The smartphone will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right out of the box, so there’s no need to wait for an update. It is also worth mentioning that the Xperia Z2 is one of the few smartphones to come with 3GB of RAM inside.

Moreover, the Xperia Z2 is IP58 certified (dust proof and water resistant) and boasts an incredible 20.7-megapixel camera on the back which features autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording.

Another selling point of the phone would be the impressive 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and integrates Sony’s TRILUMINOUS and X-Reality Engine technologies.

Let’s also not forget the powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 16GB of storage (microSD card up to 128GB).
