Sony Mobile has been long rumored to plan the release of a mini version of its Xperia Z1 flagship smartphone on the international market, and a newly leaked photo with the device is now available for your viewing pleasure.

The handset might be officially announced during the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in Las Vegas next month, but no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now.

Roughly one week before its possible official unveiling, Xperia Z1 Mini has made an appearance on Digi-Wo, providing users with the possibility to have another look at its back panel.

The smartphone might be launched in China on January 3, some of the latest reports on the matter suggest, and it should be released internationally with model number D5503 attached to it, as XperiaGuide reports.

The newly leaked photo with the mobile phone clearly shows that Sony will pack it with a 20.7-megapixel camera with “G” Lens, as well as with flash.

Both the Sony and Xperia logos are present on the smartphone’s back, while the 3.5mm headphone jack at the top is positioned slightly to the center.

The upcoming handset is also said to pack a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, as well as all the features and capabilities that Xperia Z1 was made official with.

This includes the quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor of the flagship, as well as 2GB of RAM, and 16GB or more of internal memory. A microSD memory card slot should also be included in the package.

Moreover, the Xperia Z1 Mini is rumored to feature a front camera, 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors, along with a powerful battery.

The smartphone should arrive on shelves with one of the latest Android versions out there, most probably Android 4.4 KitKat, yet no confirmation on this has been provided as of now. More on the matter should emerge soon, so keep an eye on this space to learn the news.
