Officially introduced in India earlier this week, Sony Xperia Z1 can now be purchased through multiple authorized resellers across the country.

Infibeam is one of the major Indian retailers offering Sony’s new flagship smartphone these days. Customers who wish to pick this one up will have to come up with no less than Rs 42,990 upfront, which is about $690 or €510.

Even though it might look expensive, Infibeam is in fact making a 4% discount for those who choose its retail channels to purchase the Xperia Z1.

Basically, Sony Xperia Z1’s suggested retail price is Rs 44,990 ($725/€535), but Infibeam customers will get a Rs 2,000 ($32/€23) discount.

Aside from the small discount, Indian customers that purchase the Xperia Z1 via Infibeam will also receive a premium case, a portable charger and an Xperia Accidental Damage Cover, all for free.

The retailer has also waived the shipping fee and states that all orders are shipped in 1-2 days. Keep in mind that Sony Xperia Z1 is only available in black and purple color options, so those who want to buy the white-themed model should look elsewhere.

Sony Xperia Z1 ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform out of the box, but we expect the Japanese company to offer an upgrade to Android 4.3 or Android 4.4 KitKat by the end of the year.

On the inside, the smartphone packs a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

The phone boasts a stunning 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Triluminous technology.

The Xperia Z1 also sports an impressive 20.7-megapixel main camera with autofocus, image stabilization, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera that can capture full HD videos.
