Users in Sweden can now purchase the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, the latest smartphone that the Japanese mobile phone maker has launched in its popular series of Android-based devices.

The handset was made official a few weeks ago during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, when Sony said that it would start selling it in February.

However, it seems that Sweden has just become the first market where the device is being marketed, with retailers such as Dustin.se and PhoneHouse.se already listing it on their websites.

Moreover, as XperiaBlog notes, various other sites also have the device available for their customers, though only the black variant has been released as of now. The mobile phone features a price tag of SEK 4,595 (£432, €521, $713).

Starting with the first week of February, the mobile phone will become available for purchase in more markets around Europe.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Xperia Z1 Compact was launched with a 4.3-inch TRILUMINOS touchscreen display capable of delivering a 1280x720 pixels resolution, with X-Reality for mobile picture engine.

The mobile phone also features 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974 processor inside, along with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory. A microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional storage space is also included.

On the back, the mobile phone features a 20.7-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor RS for mobile image sensor, capable of recording videos in full HD resolution, paired with a front camera for making video calls.

The handset is powered by a 2300mAh battery that can deliver up to 18 hours of talk time, or up to 670 hours of standby time.

Moreover, the handset sports 4G LTE connectivity inside, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, built-in GPS receiver, and the entire range of usual sensors. On top of that, the Xperia Z1 Compact is both waterproof (IP55 and IP58) and Dust-resistant (IP55).
