Unveiled earlier this month at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014, Sony Xperia Z1 Compact has just received a small price cut in the UK.

The smartphone was initially available for pre-order for no less than £430 ($710 / €525) outright, but beginning today, major retailer Clove UK reduced the Xperia Z1 Compact’s price to £399 ($660 / €485).

According to Clove, “if you have already placed an order with us in the last two weeks then don’t worry, a refund for the difference will be applied before your order ships in February.”

Speaking of which, Clove has also confirmed that the first Sony Xperia Z1 Compact stock will arrive on shelves in mid-February. Although the retailer does not offer an exact release date, the timeframe offered is more than enough for those who want to pre-order one.

Keep in mind that Sony Xperia Z1 Compact will be available in multiple color options, including black, white, pink and lime.

It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone will ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. However, Sony has specifically stated that the Xperia Z1 Compact will eventually receive an Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade at some point.

Even though it’s smaller than Sony’s Xperia Z1 flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z1 Compact retains most of the former’s powerful features.

It comes with a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

In addition, the smartphone packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

On the back, Xperia Z1 Compact sports an impressive 20.7-megapixel photo snapper, while in the front there’s a secondary 2.2-megapixel camera.

The phone features a 4.3-inch IPS LCD TRILUMINOUS capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. Last but not least, the Xperia Z1 Compact is IP58 certified for dust and water resistance.
