Ubuntu Touch currently works with official support from Canonical only on Nexus devices, but third-party developers are now working to get the new operating system on Sony Xperia Z and Sony Xperia ZL.

Soon after the announcement of Ubuntu Touch, Canonical has managed to get the attention of the XDA developers. A number of them have committed themselves to port the images on other devices than Nexus.

Canonical provides a list of phones that will probably receive ports of the Ubuntu Touch operating system and Sony Xperia Z and Sony Xperia ZL have been added.

It's unclear when the Ubuntu Touch will be officially available or how easy or hard it will be to port the images on other devices.

Canonical is preparing to launch Ubuntu 13.10 in October and everyone is hoping that it will also release a stable version of Ubuntu Touch.
