Sony Mobile is reportedly gearing up for the launch of new flagship Android devices, one of which will be the Xperia Z, previously spotted online as Yuga.

The handset is expected to make an official appearance at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, while said to be en-route to China soon after.

The latest reports on the matter suggest that it will be launched in the country on January 15, and that it might sport a price tag of 4,298 Yuan ($689 / €520 / £427).

If so, the device will be priced similarly with Sony’s Xperia T smartphone, although it will sport higher specs, including a 5-inch 1080p display, 1.5GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 320 graphics, and 2GB of RAM.

The handset is also said to arrive on shelves with a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back.
