If you are living in the United States and you are interested in the purchase of a large smartphone at a low price tag, you should check out the offer that Sony Mobile has on the Xperia Z Ultra LTE handset at the moment.

Last week, we saw the company cutting the price tag of Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition by $200 (€144), and the Xperia Z Ultra LTE model has suffered a similar fate now.

The smartphone, available for purchase at $679.99 (€490) before, is currently available through Sony’s website at only $449.99 (€324). The best part of the deal, however, is the fact that it is sold unlocked and SIM-free.

However, as XperiaBlog notes, while the LTE flavor of the device – model number C6806 – has seen the aforementioned price cut, the HSPA+ version – model C6802 – is still being sold at $629.99 (€454).

In other words, grabbing an LTE Xperia Z Ultra at about $200 less than the HSPA+ version is currently a great deal, as long as you are making the purchase via Sony Mobile’s website, of course.

Just keep in mind that this device will provide you with the Sony experience. Those who would rather have the stock Android OS loaded on their smartphones should head over to the Google Play store and purchase the Xperia Z Ultra GPe, which features the very same price tag.

There’s no telling how long the price cut might be in effect, so you should hurry up to ensure that you will benefit from the deal.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Xperia Z Ultra was made official last year with a large, 6.4-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution.

The mobile phone is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The phone also comes with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

On the back, the Xperia Z Ultra features an 8-megapixel camera with full HD video recording, complemented by a 2MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

It also features the usual set of connectivity capabilities packed inside, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, a built-in GPS receiver, and the entire range of common sensors.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra is available through Sony’s online portal in Black, Purple and White. The handset was released with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top, but Sony has already kicked off the deployment of Android 4.4 KitKat.
