Sony Mobile is slowly rolling out the Xperia V globally. Initially launched in Japan, the smartphone has just arrived in Russia.

Unfortunately, the water-proof handset is really overpriced. Although overpriced smartphones are something common in Russia, the Xperia V is steeply priced at 24,990 rubles outright, which is about $815 or €625.

GSMArena reports that the smartphone is currently available only in black, while the white version is still on pre-order. Customers can only purchase the Xperia V online, but the smartphone will hit shelves on December 16.

Sony Xperia V ships with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box, though the Japanese company confirmed a Jelly Bean upgrade would be deployed next year.

The smartphone packs a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), 13-megapixel rear camera and 4.3-inch HD display.
