Earlier today I brought you news that Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 update for its Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition with 3G in tow in India.

But it appears the Korean tech giant is not alone. Sony too is rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Xperia Tablet Z 3G in the same country, says AndroidOS.

Note that the update can be installed on your device using the Sony PC Companion or Bridge for Mac tools. Sony says the new update will bring about the standard Android 4.4 tweaks and improvements, including performance enhancements, immersive mode and upgraded download app.

But that’s not all, Sony throws in some of its own stuff, like a new user-interface with revamped status bar, quick settings, new launch animation and live wallpaper.

And if this is not enough for you, you also get the latest batch of Sony’s native apps, so with the update you’ll be getting native apps like messaging, emails, Smart Social camera, updated Sony media apps. Last but not least, you’ll be granted compatibility with SmartBand SWR10 and Lifelog app.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat roll-out for the Sony Xperia Z tablet has started late last month, but has reached India only now.
