Sony has started to push its Xperia T and Xperia TX smartphones to shelves around the world, and the latter is now available for purchase in Hong Kong.

The new Sony Xperia TX (LT29i) arrives on the market with a recommended retail price of HK$4,698 (£375 / €465 / $606) attached to it, and was made available in three color flavors, namely in pink, black and white.

Additionally, Sony announced the price tag for its Xperia J smartphone, set at HK$2,098 (£169 / €208 / $270), but did not offer a specific release date for it as of now.

The new Xperia TX arrives on shelves with a large 4.6-inch touchscreen capable of delivering a 1280 x 720-pixel resolution, an HD Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and with scratch-resistant glass on top of it.

The smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Krait MSM8260-A Dual-Core processor complemented by 1GB of RAM, and sports 16GB of internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the new device sports a 13-megapixel photo snapper with pulsed LED flash and auto focus that features Sony’s Exmor R for mobile CMOS sensor, capable of recording videos in full HD resolution.

Sony Xperia TX also comes with a 1.3 megapixel 720p camera on the front, a great option when it comes to making video calls while on the go.

The imaging features list of the new device also includes Face detection and Smile detection, Sweep panorama, and an "Album" app.

Additionally, it comes with Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Hotspot functionality, Bluetooth connectivity, DLNA, NFC, HDMI via MHL support, USB High speed 2.0 and Micro USB support, and built-in GPS receiver with aGPS.

Running under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the mobile phone measures 131 x 68.6 x 8.6 mm (5.2 x 2.7 x 0.3-0.4 inches) and weighs 127 grams (4.5 ounces).
