Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is gearing up for the release of its Xperia T3 smartphone to more markets around the world, and it seems that Canada will be the next to receive it.

The company has already listed the mobile phone on its Canadian website, confirming that it will be released in the country in August in three color flavors, including Black, Purple and White, but has not offered details on its pricing.

However, it appears that the device will be released through wireless carriers Bell Mobility, Virgin Mobile, and SaskTel, and that users will also be able to grab it through the official Sony Store, as well as via national retailers, including The Source.

The mobile phone was made official back in June as a mid-range device, featuring a 5.3 touchscreen TRILUMINOS Display for mobile with BRAVIA Engine 2, capable of delivering a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

Moreover, the handset arrives on shelves with a 1.4 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor paired with 1GB of RAM, which should ensure pretty decent performance capabilities.

The handset also sports 8GB of internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

“The Xperia T3 is a striking yet affordable device built for those who have an eye for distinctive designs and appreciate standing out from the crowd,” said Tim Hernquist, VP Marketing North America, Sony Mobile Communications, eyeonmobility reports.

“Refined with Sony’s powerful digital imaging expertise and a stunning HD display, the Xperia T3 has everything you need in a smartphone and is loaded with Xperia camera apps that allows customers to get more out of their photos and videos.”

On the back, the Sony Xperia T3 features an 8-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor RS for mobile image sensor, auto focus, HDR, and full HD video recording capabilities, paired with a 1.1MP front camera that sports 720p video capabilities.

The mobile phone was also announced with 4G LTE connectivity, the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS receiver, and with a 2500mAh battery that can provide users with up to 12 hours and 46 minutes of talk time, or with up to 688 hours of standby time.

Xperia T3 measures 150.7 x 77 x 7mm and weighs 148 grams. The handset arrives on shelves with the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system loaded on top right from the start, as well as with various apps and exclusive features coming from Sony itself.
