Sony Mobile has just introduced the Xperia T3 mid-range Android smartphone in Malaysia, but the device seems to be slightly overpriced in comparison with other products launched by the Japanese handset maker.

It appears that the Xperia T3 can be purchased for no less than RM 1,399 outright, which is about $435 or €325. Considering that the Xperia Z2 can be ordered in Malaysia for RM 1,599 ($500 / €375), we don’t see any Sony fan getting the Xperia T3 over the former which offers much better features.

As XperiaBlog points out, the Xperia T3 will have a hard time becoming popular in Malaysia given the fierce competition with other smartphone in the same price range, such as the OnePlus One, which can be had for RM 1,299 ($405 / €305) if you have an invite.

The Xiaomi Mi3 is another alternative that Android fans might prefer over the Xperia T3, as the former costs only RM 769 ($240 / €180).

Anyway, those who still want to stay with Sony and purchase the Xperia T3 can do so via the company’s online store. Keep in mind, though, that the smartphone is bundled in different packages with some accessories, so it’s up to you to choose what’s best for you.

For example, the Xperia T3 bundled with Smartband SWR-10 costs RM 1,598 ($500 / €375), while those who prefer to get it along with the Smart Watch 2 must pay no less than RM 1,789 ($560 / €420).

Sony Xperia T3 will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, and considering the smartphone made its debut on the market back in July, it’s almost sure to receive an Android L upgrade soon after the release of the new platform.

On the inside, the mid-range smartphone is equipped with a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

In addition, the handset packs 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB. Sony Xperia T3 sports a 5.3-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with TRILUMINOUS and Mobile Bravia engine 2 technology, which supports HD (720p) resolution.

There’s also an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 1.1-megapixel camera in the front for video calls.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Xperia T3 comes with LTE support, as well as NFC (Near Field Communication), Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and a high-capacity 2500 mAh battery.
