Sony Mobile launched the single SIM version of Xperia T2 Ultra in India about a month ago and priced it at ($515 / €375), which is a bit seep for an emerging market.

Today, the Japanese company is back with yet another variation the Xperia T2 Ultra, but this time Sony announced the upcoming availability of the dual-SIM version of the smartphone.

Unlike the single-SIM model, Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual will be available for purchase in India for only Rs 25,990 ($425 / €305) outright. This is the same price Flipkart will sell the wood back version of Moto X beginning today.

According to fonearena, the Xperia T2 Ultra Dual will go on sale in India tomorrow, March 19, and customers will be able to choose from three color options: black, white and purple. The smartphone is likely to be available at various major retailers across the country.

Unveiled back in January, Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual will ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.

Unfortunately, there’s no telling if the smartphone will receive an upgrade to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but we expect Sony to come forward with an official statement soon after the Xperia T2 Ultra goes on sale globally.

Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual is a mid-range smartphone. As such, the device offers mildly hardware features combined with Sony’s top notch technology.

The large 6.0-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution comes packed with TRILUMINOUS and Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 technologies.

On the back, the phablet boasts an improved 13-meagpixel photo snapper with Sony Exmor RS sensor, autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary 1.1-megapixel camera for video calls.

As the name suggests, it offers dual-SIM capability with dual standby support. The Xperia T2 Ultra Dual is powered by a decent 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Although there are only 8GB of storage inside, the smartphone comes equipped with microSD card slot, so users will be able to further expand internal memory up to 32GB.

Sony Xperia T2 Ultra drains energy from a high-capacity non-removable 3,000 mAh battery, which should provide up to 1120 hours of standby time (1090 hours in 3G mode) or up to 16 hours of talk time (30 hours in 3G mode).
