Good news for Sony fans in Australia, as the Xperia T2 Ultra mid-range phablet has just been confirmed to arrive in the country soon.

According to CNET, the Xperia T2 Ultra will be available for purchase via Sony Centres and Sony Kiosks for around $500 (€340) off contract.

However, customers who prefer to buy from other authorized retailers will have to come up with $550 (€375), but that will also get them a free Bluetooth headset worth $80 (€55) in the sales package.

It is also worth mentioning that the dual-SIM version of Xperia T2 Ultra will be available for purchase in Australia as well, but no details on the phone’s pricing options have emerged yet.

Sony Xperia T2 Ultra will ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but the Japanese handset maker has confirmed that an Android 4.4.2 KitKat update will be available soon.

The smartphone comes with a huge 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Sony’s TRILUMINOUS and Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 technologies.

Hardware-wise, the phablet is armed with a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

It also packs a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, along with 1.1-megapixel secondary camera.
