Owners of the Sony Xperia SP smartphone should be happy to know that the handset vendor has started to push the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system to their devices.

According to a recent article on XperiaBlog, the update is currently available for the smartphone in Australia, though it should be pushed to other markets as well in the not too distant future.

The update comes as firmware version 12.1.A.0.266 and is set to provide users with a nice range of enhancements over the currently available software on the device.

Android 4.3 for Xperia SP can be downloaded via the Sony PC Companion application, though it should become available OTA as well.

According to XperiaGuide, users will receive the White UI on their devices as part of the new release, along with a new Sony Smart Camera app and updated Sony media applications.

Moreover, there are additional Xperia stock wallpapers and themes to enjoy, along with a new Xperia Home launcher. The smartphone's user interface is said to be much smoother following the update.
