Starting today, users in Russia can purchase a new mobile phone from Sony, namely the Xperia SP, which currently features a price tag of 17,990 Rubles (£373, €437, $569).

The smartphone was made available for purchase through Sony’s online store, where it is listed as in stock in both Black and White flavors.

As XperiaBlog notes, Russia is the first European country to receive access to the smartphone, though users in other territories will be able to grab the device as well, starting with the next week.

Sony’s Xperia SP smartphone arrives on shelves with a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor packed inside, as well as with Adreno 320 graphics (MSM8960T).

Furthermore, it sports 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot, so that users could add some more storage to it.

Xperia SP was made official with a 4.6.-inch touchscreen display on the front, capable of delivering a 720p resolution, and with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash, Sony Exmor RS sensor and support for full HD video recording, and a front camera to enable video calling on the go.

Furthermore, the specifications list of the new mobile phone shows a 2300mAh battery inside (capable of up to 18 hours and 53 minutes of talk time), along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, NFC, GPS receiver, MHL port, and the usual set of sensors.

The Sony Xperia SP was made official with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean loaded on top, and with various features designed by Sony themselves. The smartphone measures 130.6 x 67.1 x 9.98 mm (5.14 x 2.64 x 0.39 inches) and weighs 155 grams (5.47 oz).

Already PlayStation Certified, the handset also arrives on shelves with TrackID music recognition capabilities, xLoud Experience, DLNA, Xperia Link, Screen mirroring, FM Radio with RDS, and more.
