Sony has been long rumored to be planning the release of a successor for its Xperia S smartphone, and some more photos with that device are now available for your viewing pleasure.

Supposedly called Sony Xperia SL, the handset was spotted online before with the model number LT26ii attached to it, and it can now be admired in a series of close-up images over at GSMArena.

Rumor has it that the smartphone would be set to hit the market with a faster application processor when compared to its predecessor, namely a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S3 chipset (MSM8260).

Overall, the new mobile phone is rumored to pack the same hardware specs as Xperia S, including the 4.3-inch screen, 1GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory.

Sony’s Xperia SL would also feature a 12MP photo snapper on the back, a front camera for video calling, and Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
