The smartphones will be available via select retailers

Sony Mobile has finally announced the availability of its entire Xperia NXT series in India. Xperia P, U and sola will soon land at select retailers across the country.

Keep in mind that Sony Xperia U and Xperia sola can be purchased starting today, while the Xperia P will be available on the market beginning next week.

Sony Mobile confirmed the Xperia P should go on sale for Rs 25,799 (465 USD or 370 EUR), whereas the Xperia sola is priced at Rs 20,449 (365 USD or 290 EUR). The cheapest of the three, Sony Xperia U is only Rs 17,399 (310 USD or 250 EUR) outright.

The Japanese company inked a partnership with Tata Teleservices, so each customer who purchases one of its Xperia NXT smartphone will receive 3GB of free mobile data for a limited time.

As expected, all three smartphone will be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system out of the box. However, Sony promised an Ice Cream Sandwich update would be pushed to all Xperia NXT phone in Q2/Q3 2012.

One downside of the Xperia U and P might be the lack of microSD card slot for memory expansion. Luckily, Xperia sola does offer the possibility to further enhance storage amount up to 32GB via microSD card.

Last but not least, all three Xperia NXT smartphones recently introduced in India are based on ST-Ericsson’s NovaThor U8500 chipset, which features a 1 GHz dual-core CPU and a Mali-400MP graphics processing unit.

It is also worth mentioning that Xperia P packs 1GB of RAM, while the other two only embed 512MB of RAM.
