As expected, Sony Xperia M2 dual has just gone on sale in India and customers can now pick this mid-range Android smartphone up for as low as Rs 20,990 ($345 / €250) outright.

Although the Japanese company confirmed a few days ago that the Xperia M2 dual would be available for purchase in India beginning April 25 for Rs 21,990 ($360 / €260) off contract, it looks like some online retailers lowered by price by Rs 1,000 ($16 / €12).

Customers who wish to purchase the Xperia M2 dual may want to do some research before making their investment, due to the fact that there are lots of online retailers selling the smartphone for various prices.

For example, Infibeam offers the Xperia M2 dual for Rs 20,990 ($345 / €250) and confirms it can ship all orders in 1-2 days. The Indian retailer offers the smartphone in three color options: black white and purple.

The smartphone will ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, which is the version launched by Google prior to Android 4.4 KitKat. Speaking of which, Sony has yet to confirm a KitKat upgrade for Xperia M2 dual, so stay tuned for more on this one.

As the name suggests, Xperia M2 dual offers dual-SIM capability. In addition, it comes packed with a range of connectivity options, including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC (Near Field Communication) and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support.

On the inside, the mid-range smartphone is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Sony Xperia M2 dual packs 8GB of internal memory, but owners can add microSD memory cards up to 32GB. The smartphone also sports a 4.8-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution and features scratch resistant glass coating.

On the back, the Xperia M2 dual features an enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper that offers various shooting settings and options such as autofocus, LED flash, image stabilization and full HD (1080p) video recording. The handset also comes with a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Sony’s mid-range smartphone is powered by a non-removable 2,300 mAh battery, which is rated by the Japanese company for up to 580 hours of standby time (up to 600 hours in 3G mode) or up to 11 hours of talk time (up to 12 hours in 3G mode).
