Xperia L, one of the latest Android-based smartphones to have arrived from the Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile, is now available for pre-order in India.

The smartphone is expected to become available for purchase in the country as soon as the next week, and can now be reserved through online retailer Infibeam, which lists it on this page.

Made official back in March, the Sony Xperia L comes to the market as an affordable device, and the Rs. 18,990 ($353 / 268 Euro) price tag that it sports at this retailer proves that.

The smartphone features a 4.3-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering an 854 x 480 pixels resolution, and which is also scratch-resistant, as fonearena notes.

Furthermore, the mobile phone comes with a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 processor inside, as well as with 1GB of RAM.

The specifications list of this device also includes 8GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

Additionally, the Sony Xperia L packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED Flash and Exmor RS sensor, capable of recording videos in HD resolution and paired with a front camera for making video calls.

The handset also includes support for 3G (HSPA+ 21 Mbps) networks, as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC connectivity, built-in GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors.

Powered by a 1750 mAh battery (capable of delivering up to 8 hours and 30 minutes of talk time, or up to 498 hours of standby time), the Xperia L runs under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system right from the start.

The mobile phone measures 128.7 mm x 65 mm x 9.7 mm and weighs 137 grams. It will be released in India in two color flavors, namely Black and White.
