Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is reportedly planning the release of a new affordable smartphone in the Xperia E series next year, one that would also include LTE connectivity inside, a post on emsodm unveils.

The smartphone, supposedly called Sony Xperia E2, should arrive on shelves with low-end specs, the same as its predecessor, though specific details on what it will have to offer to its users haven’t been provided as of now.

One thing that is certain, however, is the fact that it will provide users with access to 4G LTE networks, something that many low-end devices have started to offer lately.

Furthermore, as UnwiredView notes, the upcoming mobile phone might run under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, given that Google has decided to lower the hardware requirements for the platform.
