Sony Xperia E1, one of the latest cheap smartphones from Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile, is now available for purchase in various European countries, via the official Sony Mobile Shop.

The smartphone can be seen as available in most markets on the old continent, except the Netherlands, as XperiaBlog notes.

The price for the smartphone differs from country to country, as it is the cheapest in Italy, with a price tag of €119 ($164) attached to it, and appears to be the most expensive in Spain, where it costs €199 ($275). In Sweden, it can be bought at SEK 2,395 ($371/€269).

In Germany and France, the handset is listed at €139 ($192), while featuring a price tag of £159/$264/€192 in the UK (retailers Amazon.co.uk and Handtec have it at only £120/$200/€145, it seems).

Sony has unveiled the Xperia E1 in three different color versions, including black, purple and white, and users can now grab all three of them, it seems.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Xperia E1 was made official with a 4-inch touchscreen display that can deliver an 800 x 480 pixels resolution.

It is an entry-level device, powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8210 processor, paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. Moreover, the handset features a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

On the back, the device sports a 3.15-megapixel camera, capable of recording videos too. However, no front camera for video calling was included in the package.

The new Sony Xperia E1 runs under the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, but Sony has already confirmed plans to provide it with an update to the newer Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system.

On top of that, the new mobile phone comes with great audio features, the usual set of connectivity capabilities, and a Li-Ion 1750 mAh battery that can deliver up to 8 hours and 41 minutes of talk time on 3G networks.

“The Xperia E1 welcomes you into the world of smartphones with its signature Walkman music experience and premium-feel interface. Equipped with our loudest smartphone speaker to date, this stylish beauty is designed to play it out loud,” Sony notes.

“Smart features like Shake control let you control your music the easy way: just shake to shuffle. And this Android smartphone is created for an active lifestyle too – the lightning fast processor and long-life battery keeps you powered up when out and about.”

Those of you who live in Europe and are interested in the purchase of a Sony Xperia E1 smartphone should head over to the vendor’s local online store to grab it.
