Sony Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 dual have been officially introduced in India early this month and while the dual-SIM variant went on sale shortly after the announcement, the single-SIM model wasn’t available for purchase until recently.

We reported last week that major retailer Flipkart might have already started to sell the Sony Xperia E1, but the device was tagged with the “out of stock” status.

Only the purple version was available last week from the Indian retailer, but starting today, you can add Infibeam to the list of authorized resellers that offer the Xperia E1, fonearena reports.

There aren’t any major differences regarding prices between Flipkart and Infibeam offers, so you might as well choose any of these deals.

For your information, Infibeam is now selling the Sony Xperia E1 for Rs. 8,980 ($145 / €105) outright. Customers in India can choose any of the three colors available at Infibeam: black, white and purple.

The dual-SIM version of Xperia E1 has been priced slightly higher at Rs. 9,999 ($165/€120), but given the fact that it offers dual-SIM capability, the price difference makes sense.

Still, those who don’t really need a dual-SIM smartphone can save a few INRs by grabbing the single-SIM version, which is now available online.

Keep in mind that while both Xperia E1 variants will ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, Sony has confirmed that it will roll out an Android 4.4.2 KitKat update at some point.

This is good news for those who can’t afford to purchase a high-tier device, but would still wish to experience the advantages offered by Google’s latest version of Android, KitKat 4.4.2.

Sony Xperia E1 is a mid-range smartphone, so it comes equipped with only a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 512MB of RAM and only 4GB of internal memory. However, users will be able to further expand storage via microSD memory card (up to 32GB).

The phone sports a decent 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and scratch resistant glass coating for extra protection.

The Xperia E1 lacks a secondary camera in the front, but it comes with a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back. The latter offers video recording capabilities but no LED flash.

The full connectivity package is included as well, such as 3G, Wi-Fi microUSB and GPS with A-GPS. It is also worth mentioning that the phone is powered by a 1700 mAh battery that should be enough for the average user.
