Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has made its entry-level Xperia E1 smartphone available in yet another market in Asia, namely South Korea, where it will try to compete with devices coming from local vendors LG and Samsung Electronics.

The Sony Xperia E1 is now available for purchase in the country with a price tag of 165,000 Won ($163/€120) attached to it, which would make it one of the cheapest mobile devices there.

In fact, a recent article on Korea Times claims that this is the first mobile to land on shelves with a price tag of less than 200,000 Won ($198/€145) attached to it.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the mobile phone was made official with a 4-inch WVGA display and a dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, while also featuring 512MB of RA, 4GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot.

Moreover, the smartphone packs a 3-megapixel rear camera, a 100 dB loudspeaker, and the usual set of connectivity capabilities inside. Unfortunately, the phone is running only the older Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS at the moment.

Mobile phone users in South Korea interested in the purchase of Sony’s Xperia E1 smartphone should head over to this page on the company’s official website for that.
