Today, Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has officially introduced the Xperia C3 smartphone, calling it the best selfie phone out there, while also touting it as a great social media sharing device.The new handset will arrive on shelves with a 5-megapixel wide-angle camera on the front (25mm with 80-degree field of view), which will enable users to capture more in the same photo.
Moreover, the mobile phone was made official with a unique soft flash next to the camera, so that users could easily snap selfies even at night, all possible either via double tapping the phone’s back or through the use of Smile Shutter.
The phone’s front camera also comes with a Superior Auto mode, which will automatically adjust photos for the lighting conditions. An auto scene recognition function was also included, designed to work together with HDR and LED flash, so as to ensure that users capture the best selfies.
Moreover, the company explains that selfie camera apps were also loaded on the new Xperia C3, and that the handset will also provide users with AR effects, so that they can easily add fun graphics and animations to their images.
Other features of the new smartphone include Portrait Retouch, which enables users to perform real-time makeover of up to two people, with choices from 10 different beauty styles, 10 DECO frame options, and 6 eye reflection pattern changes.
Sony packed this device with other camera applications as well, such as Timeshift-burst, Picture effects, Movie Creator, Social live, and Sweep Panorama, along with Vine.
The Xperia C3 also arrives on shelves with an 8-megapixel rear camera, with an Exmor RS for mobile image sensor, and with features such as SteadyShot that ensures smooth and distortion-free video capture.
The rest of the smartphone’s hardware specifications are equally impressive, as Sony has announced it with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display with BRAVIA technology capable of delivering an HD resolution, as well as with a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor.
At the same time, Sony Xperia C3 sports 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. A microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage was also added.
The mobile phone arrives on the market with support for 4G LTE networks, as well as with the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS receiver. The phone is also DLNA Certified, and comes with Screen mirroring and Smart Connect capabilities.
Moreover, Sony made it official with a 2500mAh battery capable of delivering up to 30 hours of talk time or up to 1093 hours of standby time, and with the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system loaded on top.
The mobile phone will be released in black, white and mint color options, and will be available starting August, in China. A dual-SIM model has also been unveiled.
