Last week, Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile officially announced an Android-based device aimed specifically at users looking to snap great selfies while on the go, and the handset has already received the necessary certification in China.

The mobile phone was spotted at TENAA, the Chinese telecom certification forum, with support for China Mobile's 4G LTE network and with dual-SIM capabilities inside, as BlogMobile has found out.

Apparently, Sony will make this handset available for purchase in China initially, but will bring it to shelves in other markets out there as well soon after.

The main selling point of this smartphone is said to be its 5-megapixel front camera, which enables users to take great selfies even when in low-light conditions, courtesy of a front-facing flash located next to the camera sensor.

Other than that, the handset, which is called Sony Xperia C3, will hit shelves with mid-range capabilities packed inside, which also means that it will sport a rather affordable price tag.

For example, users in China will be able to purchase the device at only 1999 Yuan ($322/€238). The phone is expected to be as cheap or even cheaper in other markets out there as well.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Sony Xperia C3 was made official with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display that can deliver an HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, at a pixel density of 267ppi.

Moreover, the mobile phone was announced with a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor packed inside, as well as with Adreno 305 graphics and with 1GB of RAM for pretty decent performance capabilities.

The smartphone also includes 8GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the handset features an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and full HD video recording, which is paired with the aforementioned 5MP front camera to deliver great imaging capabilities to all users.

Sony Xperia C3 is powered by a 2500mAh battery and comes to the market with all the usual connectivity capabilities inside, such as 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and built-in GPS receiver.

The new Sony device runs under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, while also featuring a variety of exclusive applications and software features coming from the mobile phone maker itself, including some aimed specifically at the aforementioned selfie capabilities of the device.

Xperia C3 will arrive in China in three color versions, including black, white, and mint. One thing that users should keep in mind is that the mint variant of the phone will be available exclusively in this market.
