Although the dual-SIM version of Xperia C went on sale in India earlier this month, Sony has officially introduced the smartphone in the country only recently.

Since it was released in India, the smartphone has been selling for Rs 20,490 outright, which is about $330 or €245. In fact, it continues to sell for this amount, even though Sony India has announced a slightly higher Rs 21,490 ($350/€255) price tag.

The Xperia C seems to be one of the best-selling Sony smartphones in India, especially due to the fact that it comes with dual-SIM support.

Even though there are several native handset makers that offer better equipped smartphones for lower prices, it appears that Indian customers are concerned about the quality of the products they wish to purchase and mostly choose Sony’s Xperia C.

Sony also has a positive track record when it comes to offering Android upgrade for its smartphones, which is another reason that customers may want to take the Xperia C into consideration.

Thus, the smartphone is delivered with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but an Android 4.3 upgrade is not out of the question.

Hardware-wise, the Xperia C offers a more than decent 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor, a PowerVR SGX544 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The smartphone packs only 4GB of internal memory, but users can further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

On the back, Xperia C dual-SIM features an 8-megapixel camera with Exmor R sensor, autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Last but not least, the dual-SIM phone features a high-capacity 2390 mAh Li-Ion battery, a large 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution, FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack.
