If a game has a certain quality, then Sony will use its power to help it

Sony has shared a few more details about the work it will do to promote the different independent games that will appear for the PlayStation 4 once the console is actually released.

The company says marketing will be offered only if the quality reaches a certain level.

Sony welcomes all independent developers to its new console, offering lots of services and features, including self-publishing, which means studios don't need to partner with a publisher to release their games.

This freedom relates to marketing, as Sony's Agostino Simonetta has emphasized, via Gamasutra, that, while Sony is thrilled about working with independent studios, it won't actually promote their games for them.

According to the executive, Sony will discuss methods of promotion and marketing based on the game's quality, as the company wants to promote only the best experiences.

As for those who don't meet that requirement, they will have to handle their own marketing.
