A recent research made by TeliaSonera and based on April's results placed Sony Ericsson W880i at the top of the best-selling phones.

The ranking only refers to all sales reported in Sweden. Considering the fact that all listed cellulars are from Nokia and Sony Ericsson, this actually proves to be the result of the market battle between the two. Nokia stands on a slightly inferior ground, as Sony Ericsson takes the first place, but is followed on close ground by 5 Nokia phone models in the top 10.

The ranking also revealed the customers' preferences when it comes to choosing a mobile phone. Most cellulars own a camera, have email functions and an MP3 music player. Surprisingly, the second place was taken by Nokia 1110i, which has none of these features. It is the only phone in the top 10 that lacks a camera and the only one, aside from Nokia 1110i, not capable of supporting email.

Furthermore, 10,000 customers responded that they want navigation support services on their mobile phone, as 70 per cent of all questioned people want to receive driving directions. More than half of them look for timetables and a slighter smaller number of people need to send and receive emails by using their mobile phones.

The results of the statistics come from 74 Telia retail stores in Sweden. Telia offers a wide range of services, including telephony, transmission data and Internet access. It is also one of the most highly rated mobile phones resellers in the country.
