14 DAY TRIAL // Sony Mobile hasn’t launched any Windows Phone devices as of now, nor has it officially confirmed the possible release of such a handset, but enthusiasts are certainly looking forward to seeing one such smartphone being brought to the market sooner rather than later.
Sony did confirm that Windows Phone was a platform that could prove an alternative to Android, but no actual confirmation on a smartphone being built has been provided as of now.
Should one such handset be launched in the coming months, it would certainly run under an upcoming version of Microsoft’s mobile operating system, either Windows Phone 8.1 or Windows Phone 9.
To Victor Cao, Windows Phone 9 appears to sound like a better option, and the concept phone that he brought online under the name of Sony Vaio F1 confirms that.
Not only does the device run under the aforementioned mobile OS, but it also packs a highly appealing user interface, which is completely different from what Windows Phone looks like at the moment.
Moreover, the Sony Vaio F1 concept phone features a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS Triluminous display and is powered by a 2.36GHz quad-core processor, which we can assume would be a new-generation Snapdragon CPU.
The phone also features 2GB of RAM inside, along with a 16-megapixel camera on the back, with 1/2 inch sensor and Sony G Lens.
The specifications list the concept phone also includes a 3200mAh battery as well as a metallic case. Moreover, the handset is said to be water-resistant.
The phone’s outer design is a basic one, somehow resembling the Samsung Omnia 7, as concept-phones notes. Even so, it does look quite appealing, one should agree.
Unfortunately, Sony Vaio F1 is nothing more than a concept phone for the time being, so don’t hold your breath waiting for it to arrive on the market. Moreover, with Sony having already confirmed plans to sell the Vaio business, there’s little chance that it will actually launch a smartphone under this branding.
