Sony's really going all-out today as far as its portable computing systems are concerned so, after taking a quick look at the new S Series, it's about time to check out the colorful (yet Sandy Bridge – equipped) C Series.

Without a doubt, the main selling point the 14-inch C Series Vaio notebooks have in store is represented by their colorful casing options, including here two special orange and green ‘light emitting’ models, whose special design features help them generate somewhat of a “glowing” effect.

Additionally, the notebooks in the C series also offer a backlit keyboard, for easier usage in the dark, as well as a multi-touch touchpad, for enhanced control over the computer's various functions.

Although they might not seem that “serious” on the outside, the truth of the matter is that these new Vaio laptops are actually fully-featured, coming with an Intel Core i5 CPU (upgradeable), as well as switchable graphics (available as an option, with the discrete card being an AMD Radeon HD 6470M).

And since we're on the topic of available customization options, we'll also have to point out that users will be able to choose for the HDD storage capacity that best suits their needs (but not lower than 320GB), while RAM memory seems to be restricted to just around 4GB.

Furthermore, these colorful new Vaio systems also offer users plenty of connectivity and networking options, including here a latest-generation USB 3.0 port, as well as a new HDMI 1.4 output that also supports 3D content.

While the Japanese company has refrained from providing any specific details regarding the pricing of their new VAIO C Series notebooks, they do inform us that we'll probably find out more details on this topic in March/April, when these portable computing systems will make their way onto European markets.
