The new app release comes with detailed views on music

An updated flavor of the WALKMAN application is now available for download for the owners of Xperia smartphones out there, namely version 8.4.A.1.4.

The new app iteration arrives on Sony’s Android-based devices as an 11.4MB update, and is said to bring along detailed views on users’ music.

Apparently, following the update, there is a small arrow present below each track following, which will bring up a menu when clicked.

From there, users will be able to open the song, add it to a playlist, or set it as ringtone. Moreover, said menu will also allow users to share songs, or to see more info on the artist.

Moreover, a recent post on XperiaBlog claims that the sliding navigation menu has been modified for a bit in this release, and that it sports new icons for the menu items.

Moreover, there is a brand-new menu item included in the application, namely My Library, which was meant to replaces the Artists, Albums and Songs menu items that were present in the previous versions.

According to the news site, clicking on My Library will display all of user’s music, though it will be divided in the aforementioned three categories.

One other change that the new mobile application version arrives on devices with is the possibility to go to Artist and Album from any music item.
