Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has officially made available for download a new flavor of the WALKMAN application for the owners of Xperia devices, namely version 8.4.A.3.1.

The new app iteration comes with a small series of changes over the previously available build number 8.4.A.1.4, but some of them should prove highly appealing to end users.

According to a recent post on XperiaBlog, following the update, users will see that they are able to browse music via folders.

The option can be found in “My Library,” and has been added to the previously available Artists, Albums, and Songs sorting options there.

On top of that, the new app iteration arrives on Xperia devices out here with a change to the Walkman widget. According to the release notes, the update allow the “Walkman widget to work on Android default home screen.”

Apparently, the updated application release is already available for download for the owners of Xperia Z2 handsets, through it should be released on other Xperia smartphones as well in the not-too-distant future.

However, those who do not want to wait for the update to arrive on their devices via the official channels can find the APK available for download online today.
