Digital readers rejoice! Sony has just pulled the veil off its next generation eBook reader – the PRS-T3, which comes in a selection of three attractive colors, namely red, white, and black.

The basic features have been maintained, but Sony has slipped in a few extra goodies. The most interesting novelty is related to battery life.

The company claims that a 3-minute charge will enable avid readers to go through a 600-page book. A full charge will take 2-2.5 hours and can last up to 2 months.

The PRS-T3 ships with an integrated snap cover which gives a traditional feel when holding the reader, just like with a book. An optional cover is also available which is equipped with a light that can be mounted onto the body.

The 6-inch display offers a resolution of 1024 x 758 pixels, which makes for a beautiful display of text. It also embeds the E Ink Pearl anti-glare technology and the Clear IR Dual Touch Screen.

That means that users can swipe in order to go forward and backward within their book. Buttons are available also, so there’s the possibility of using them as well, if the reader feels more comfortable.

The PRS-T3 offers 2GB of memory storage which amounts for up to 1200 books. A microSD card is also provided.

The Reader supports the EPub format and that’s a great plus, so book worms can get their eBooks from just about anywhere.
