Both devices are to be marketed soon

Seems like the award winning iPod sound devices manufacturer company, iHome, is going to have a serious competitor on the market, as Sony decided to play on its field for some time.

Sony introduces its latest additions to the portfolio, some iPod compatible home audio products, known as the ICF-C1iP clock radio, and the ZS-S2iP boom box, designed to rock the parties. Seems like the latest trend in the industry is to create iPod "toys" for indoor environment.

For a start, the ICF-C1iP clock radio comes available in black or white color versions and offers an adjustable backstop for accommodating various sizes of iPods in the comfortable built-in dock.

Otherwise, it's a pretty standard feature set for the clock radio category, it sports an adjustable brightness control, an integrated AM/FM radio to use while taking family breakfasts, and more. Not to mention the wake to iPod option, that enables every user to wake up on her/his favorite music, radio, or special alarm. For the lazy ones, the systems come with an included wireless remote.

The system's clock display seems to be quite hard to be spotted, so, probably it would have looked better on the upper side of the device.

On the other hand, the ZS-S2iP loses the integrated clock, but comes with a nice crafted integrated CD player, which is a rarity among the iPod compatible speaker systems available on the market. The iPod dock is compact, black and most of all, retractable. Not to mention there is no AC power restriction, whatsoever, as it can successfully work on batteries. All in all, they both seem great to use during the summer vacation.

They're going to be available starting this August, for a price tag of about 100 bucks. So, whether the fellows from iHome are happy or not shouldn't bother anyone, as long as we're not dealing with any Chinese hilarious copycat.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
