Sony is also pointing out that Kratos is making an appearance in the upcoming reboot of the Mortal Kombat video game, using it as proof that the most important exclusive Sony franchises are coming to gamers at some point during this year.

Sony is eager to show off its list of exclusive video games for the PlayStation 3 because they are one of the best ways to persuade gamers to pick up one of the gaming consoles over another.

The Xbox 360 also has some pretty high profile exclusive releases line up for 2011, including Gears of War 3, Forza Motorsport 3 and timed exclusives for downloadable content packs for the Call of Duty series.

In the last months of 2010, the Xbox 360 has outsold the PlayStation 3 in the NPD Group numbers for North America.
