Similar to most of the other big names in the CE industry, Sony brought quite a lot of interesting novelties at this year's International CES, one of the coolest new pieces of gear presented on this occasion being the Sony HDR-TD10 3D High-Definition Flash Memory Handycam Camcorder.

Given the fact that Panasonic has been touting such a consumer-grade 3D camcorder for quite some time now, it should come as no surprise that Sony decided to roll out its own product of this type, the HDR-TD10 being touted as the world's first double Full HD” 3D consumer camcorder w/ Integrated Dual Camera System.

What this means is that the new imager comes packed with a set of two identical Sony G Lenses, “Exmor R” CMOS sensors and “BIONZ” processors, which enable it to record 3D content in 1920x1080 Full HD resolution.

Naturally, 2D Full HD video recording and 2D still image capture are also available.

Moreover, in order to allow users to review the videos they've just taken in 3D, the camcorder comes equipped with a glasses-free 3D display, the 3.5-inch WIDE 3D/2D Xtra Fine with TruBlack technology LCD (1229K resolution).

Additional features worth mentioning about Sony's new 3D camcorder include the 64GB of internal flash memory, for 60p/24p recording capability in 2D, the Optical SteadyShot system w/ Active Mode and iAuto even in 3D, as well as the 10x optical zoom in 3D (12x in 2D), with 17x Extended Zoom.

Last, but certainly not least, it's important to mention that the camcorder comes equipped with a built-in mic w/ 5.1ch surround system, Clear Phase stereo speakers with S-Master technology, wind noise reduction, mic/HP jack, and audio level meter.

As expected, the Sony HDR-TD10 3D High-Definition Flash Memory Handycam Camcorder will come at a pretty steep price point, the device being slated to go on sale in April for around 1,500 US dollars.
